Our First Trip

Our first trip as a couple was to the Dominican Republic. We needed a break from the Chicago winter and wanted to escape somewhere tropical. We stayed for four nights and four days at the Riu Palace Hotel in Punta Cana.

This was our first time staying at an all inclusive hotel and we did not know what to expect. We found the food to be generally good, with the buffet actually better than the a la carte restaurants. As we are not big buffet people, we found this surprising. Drinks were freely available and our room featured full size bottles of Dominican rum.
